Annie Taylor is a landscape artist living and working in the French Pyrenees. Whilst some of her paintings feature the mountains and vineyards of the Roussillon, much of her work is nostalgic, based on sketches and photographs and reflecting dreams and memories of the rolling patchwork fields and woodland landscape of the South West of England where she grew up.
Annie Taylor is largely self-taught. She started painting in America in the 80's, when she opened a studio and art gallery on the North Shore of Long Island in partnership with an established local artist. The studio enabled her to study and work alongside several professional painters. When she returned to the UK with a daughter to raise the financial pressure was on and the brushes had to be put aside. She started a PR and event management company in London and later in Bath, specialising in film, theatre and television, representing clients at the Cannes Film Festival for many years and organising large scale outdoor Festivals back in the UK.
Annie Taylor became a full time artist in 2005. She studied with Dorset painter Clare Shepherd and received a grant from Arts Matrix to work with her in a mentoring scheme. During this time she has exhibited in one woman and group shows in London and the South West of England as well as the South of France.
