Working in watercolour in a very direct and uncluttered way, Jake uses the medium due to its fluidity. Creating light and movement through the use of vigorous, expressive brush work.
“I consider myself to be a colourist and I love to combine different colour temperatures throughout my work. I always prefer understatement to detail and aim to create an energy in my work through brush work and negative spaces.” says Jake.
Inspired by the textures and shapes of, in particular wildlife. The exhibition will include a variety of different wildlife paintings interspersed with another favourite of Jake’s, Venice.
All of Jakes work comes beautifully presented and will range from standard size images of 47cm x 33cm to large impactful pieces measuring 95cm x 75cm.
You can view his work at our next exhbition starting on the 13th March 2020.
