Founded in 1985, The Wykeham Gallery is a contemporary art gallery exhibiting pictures of all media, sculpture and ceramics. The Gallery shows work by many well established artists whose output is consistently outstanding as well as exhibiting the work of some very exciting younger artists.
We are located in the ever popular Hampshire town of Stockbridge, midway between Winchester and Salisbury, on the River Test. The town offers excellent accommodation, some nationally acclaimed restaurants, first class and diverse shops, wonderful National Trust walking and free parking.
The gallery hosts a series of solo/group/themed shows throughout the year and between them we hang the work of a broad selection of gallery artists whose work can be seen on this website.
Should you wish to receive notification by email of forthcoming shows then please navigate to our Contact Page and complete the SUBSCRIBE form.
We are open Monday to Sunday 10.00 to 17.00.
Own Art - Key Information
The Own Art scheme is available through our network of participating member galleries for the purchase of contemporary art and craft in a range of media, subject to the scheme criteria and participating gallery requirements.
That means you can choose from a wide range of works, from paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture to glassware, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, and textiles. Whatever you decide to buy, it must be made by a living artist, as we want to support the artists of today by encouraging sales of their work to new buyers. In some galleries, you can use Own Art on works of art by artists born in the 20th or 21st century.
The first stage is the difficult bit - deciding what to buy. There are hundreds of Own Art member galleries across the country to choose from, many of which specialise in different types of work. Use our gallery finder to search for the kind of work you are most interested in.

WEBSITE PURChASE DISCLAIMER
Although sales information is updated on our website daily, all stock is offered simultaneously in the gallery. Therefore we cannot guarantee your chosen item/items will still be available for sale. A member of the gallery staff will contact you to confirm your purchase.
ANti-Money Laundering Policy
The government has introduced new anti-money laundering measures which has affected all art dealers, galleries and their clients since 10th January 2020 throughout the EU. We will have to take, and be seen to take, all reasonable steps to mitigate the risks of money-laundering occurring in the course of our business, including the risks of being paid with illegally obtained funds.
As part of these obligations and before the completion of any sale, we will be legally obliged to carry out identification and Customer Due Diligence on all clients. These checks are broadly similar to those carried out by banks when you open up a bank account and have already been put in place by the major international auction houses.
For individuals, we will require a copy of a valid photo identity document such as a passport, driving license or national ID card which confirms their full name, date of birth, nationality and proof of permanent residential address. For companies, we will require company details including evidence of incorporation, directors and the ultimate beneficial owners. In a situation where an agent/advisor is acting on behalf of a buyer, we may be required to identify the ultimate buyer in addition to the agent.
Payments received by the gallery will have to be received from a bank account held in the name of the person or entity named on the invoice. In the event that you wish for a third party to pay for a purchase on your behalf, you will have to seek our prior authorisation to do this and if the information you provide to us doesn’t meet with these new legal requirements, unfortunately we will have to reserve the right to refuse third party payments.
Please understand that we are now obligated to do this for all our clients spending more than GBP 10,000, even those with whom we have dealt in the past, but rest assured that we will do our best to make the process as quick and efficient as we possibly can.
We assure you that the information which you provide to us will be held and processed in accordance with our privacy policy and will remain secure and confidential at all times.
If you have any questions please contact us.
